Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Namibia worked with 73 Ovahimba teachers in the Ondao Primary School to strengthen knowledge of literacy and primary education, teaching skills, and credentials. The partners held four one-week in-service training workshops for Ondao teachers.

As a result of the workshops, participants showed professional growth and confidence, and several teachers earned credits toward getting their Basic Education Teacher Degree (BETD) certification.  Conferences were also held at both universities to raise awareness of the project among social science and humanities faculty members.
