Through the development of a PhD program in computer science at Al Akhawayn University, Ifrane (AUI), Montana State University (MSU) and AUI are collaborating to create a reliable stream of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) graduates to supply Morocco with needed academic and industry professionals. The partnership will offer MSU’s PhD degree program in computer science to scholars at AUI, where MSU faculty will deliver graduate courses in Morocco in a compressed format and work with and advise the PhD students. The PhD students will be guided by AUI faculty members who will remain in close contact with MSU faculty. The PhD candidates will spend at least four weeks a year at MSU-Bozeman to work with their advisors on coursework and theses. MSU faculty will plan and deliver professional development courses to ICT professionals in key cities in Morocco.
