As senior program associate at HED, Lisa Leander oversees the Training, Internships, Exchanges and Scholarship (TIES) program funded by USAID Mexico and manages the New IDEAS Partnership Program.

Mrs. Leander has field experience in Botswana, South Africa, and Jordan, working on USAID-funded development projects. Before joining HED, she was a senior project administrator managing home-office project teams supporting USAID and World Bank development projects in Latin America, Middle East, and Africa.

Mrs. Leander graduated from Sonoma State University with a double major in history and Spanish. She is currently completing her master’s degree in international development at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
