Legal notice
The Open Quad is an independent magazine about international higher education. Because this domain once belonged to a well-known aid programme, its independence comes first on this page.
Independent of HED, USAID and ACE
The Open Quad is not the former Higher Education for Development programme and has no relationship with USAID, the American Council on Education or any of their partner institutions. It does not hold or publish that programme's records, and it speaks for no university, ministry or aid agency.
Editorial standards
Study-abroad guides rest on official and primary sources: immigration authorities, ministries, UNESCO, the OECD, the World Bank, the Institute of International Education and the institutions themselves. Fees, thresholds and rules are tied to the year they apply to, with a link to the page where the current value can be checked. The magazine does not rank universities, take commissions from education agents, sell services or give immigration, legal or admissions advice on individual cases.
Publisher of record
Axel Hars is director of publication for HSTART, the simplified joint-stock company (SASU) that publishes the magazine. HSTART has a share capital of €1,599,893, is registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under RCS 853 093 714, holds VAT number FR77853093714 and has its seat at 66 avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris, France.
